Blended Movie Review

I can not help but make a review of this movie.  I am a fan of Drew Barrymore since I watched the Charlie's Angels movie.  In fact, I immediately bought an original CD of that movie along with its sequel.

Almost every night, me and my husband spend our time together by watching one movie before going to sleep.  Usually, he chooses what movie to watch and I entirely do not have an idea on what we will be watching.

That one particular night, we watched this movie entitled, Blended.  As almost all of you might know, it starred Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler.  It is a romantic comedy movie directed by Frank Coraci.

It was only during that night that I learned of the casts of the movie and upon knowing the same I immediately agreed to watch the movie without questioning what the movie is all about as I usually do every time we concur to watch a movie.

I give this movie five stars, five being the highest.  Sandler and Barrymore team-up in  this movie seemed natural.  Its like you are pondering on two separate yet connected stories of two real-life individuals.  Both portrayed their roles exquisitely.  Similarly, the stars who played the roles as their children were endearing.

On a different view, the story itself is of great interest.  As the movie begun, I was so engrossed that I did not bother to get some food to eat while watching or even get my tablet in order to surf the internet which I sometimes do especially if I do not like the movie that we are watching.  I was so interested and affected with the movie to the extent that I was also excited to finish the movie to know what will happen to them and their children.

In totality, I personally recommend that you watch this movie for even I who is not the romantic-comedy movie lover rather an action and horror movie enthusiast was fully satisfied and feeling relaxed after watching this movie, Blended.

Easy Homemade Chocolate Ice Cream

Several weeks ago, my niece who is a two-year old was brought by my sister to our house.  Prior to their arrival, her nanny kept convincing me to make my homemade ice cream.  It was not so long ago that I started making an ice cream.  She happened to savor the ice cream I made during that time and she wanted me to make one upon their coming.

At first, I was doubtful.  It has been a couple of months since the last time I made a homemade ice cream.  Nevertheless, when they arrived, my niece's nanny continue to tease me to make an ice cream, so I gave in.

Making an ice cream is not that difficult.  In fact, I only knew how to make one through the internet.  The photo above is one of my finished products.  I am no expert in making ice creams but I have made a number of them for personal and not for commercial purposes.

Since I started making an ice cream, I have not used an ice cream maker.  I cannot find one here in our city.  For that reason, I make use of a hand mixer.  The ice cream in the photo is originally a simple chocolate ice cream not a rocky road ice cream.  I just added some marshmallows, minute chocolates, cashew nuts and sprinkles depending on who is eating the ice cream for there are those who do not want marshmallows, sprinkles, etc., and prefer a plain chocolate ice cream.

The ingredients for this ice cream include an evaporated milk, cream, condensed milk and cocoa.

How to make an ice cream without an ice cream maker?  It is simple.  Just observe the following:

First, mix the cocoa and condensed milk.

Second, combine the evaporated milk and cream and place it in your hand mixer.

Third, using your hand mixer, mix the evaporated milk and cream until the mixture sticks into your hand mixer.

Fourth, combine "First" and "Second."  Stir slowly.  It will look like the photo below.

Fifth, constantly stir the mixture until the color becomes brown as shown below.
Your mixture should look exactly as the photo above before freezing it.  Place this mixture in an airtight container then freeze.  After that, you'll have your own easy homemade ice cream.

My niece's nanny loved it and ate a lot of it, lol.  Of course, my sisters and my husband, too, took a taste of it.  Even I can not resist it.

Happy Mother's Day: Our Mother's Day Vacation

First and foremost, I want to greet all mothers out there a happy, happy mother's day.  This day happens only once in a year.  This is the time for daughters and sons to recognize the effort, support, understanding and love that they receive from their mother since conception till birth.  Even though expressing our gratitude to our mothers should not be confined only in today's celebration, still, it will give them great joy if daughters and sons will spend time making this day special for them.

Insofar as our celebration for Mother's day is concerned, we had a family vacation.  It was a short vacation that we did not have a sleep over as most vacations should have.  Most of the family members will be working the next day so we only have a few hours to meet and chat.

We went to Midway Resort, a beach resort located in between the city where we, my husband, brothers and sisters live and the city where my parents are residing.  Ergo, we had to travel from an opposite direction and meet at the resort.  Be that as it may, it was worth it for we get to see and talk with one another.  It seemed that the time was so short.  However, everyone was happy especially our mother which is the most important thing in this day.

Happy mother's day, Mommy!  We thank you and love you always!

I cannot post the pictures yet.  My sister gave me the wrong cord, grrr.

(Photo Update)

My husband was my savior.  He was able to find another cord that fits the camera.  Thanks to him.

Here are some photos of the Midway Beach Resort.

Because of the heat, I did not have the chance to go down near the beach.  Besides, we are busy talking and sharing some stuffs with one another.  Though it only happens in a few hours, it was a great vacation.

Google+ Followers Gadget on Blogger: Way to Increase Blog Traffic

Prior to joining a group in Google+, I was hesitant to incorporate my Blogger account to Google+.  Even though this blog is old as evidenced by the date when the first article was posted which was on July 11, 2012, still, it may be considered in the process of commencing since there are only a few articles published.  It is my desire that this blog will continue on not only for ten years but for several years more so that I need to find ways to make this blog interesting.

For now, as much as it kills me to make this admission, this blog is boring.  This is one of the reasons why I kept bookmarking websites that may be of help for the improvement of this blog.

Unintentionally, I decided to open a Google+ account.  Expecting nothing from it, I joined a group called Bloggers of Google Plus.  Surprisingly, I was accepted and its members started to add me to their circles or follow me.  So far, this is the only group that I joined.  I have yet no intention of joining any other group for it takes time to be up to date on what is happening around my circle.

Today, I finished checking my inbox for Google+ updates.  Upon opening some blogs and bookmarking them, I noticed that some blogs of the group where I belong has this Google+ Followers gadget.  I became excited and thought of placing the same on my blog to add something new to it.  Somehow, this group has provided me new perceptions in blogging to the effect that I need not fear incorporating my Blogger account to Google+ account.

If you have a blog in Blogger, it is easy to add Google+ Followers gadget.  Below are the steps:

1. Sign in to your Blogger account. – Of course, it cannot be done without signing in, lol.

2. If you have multiple blogs, click on the blog you wish to change, edit or add something.

3. Look for the “Layout” category on the left side and click on it. – Here, you can see how your blog was arranged.  You can move, add or edit gadgets here depending on what you want your blog to look like.

3. Click “Add a Gadget.” – This is where you will see “Google+ Followers,” among other things.

4. To add “Google+ Followers” gadget on your blog, just click on the plus sign.

I am not good in making instructions, so, if you have any questions or clarifications, you can email me.  And here is a picture of what I did to my blog.

Having a Google+ account changes the way you do blogging.  Through Google+, I became a member of the group called Bloggers of Google Plus which has many members who are experts in blogging.  Through reading their websites, you get to learn more about blogging and there is the feeling of eagerness to make good your personal blog; not only that, it also adds traffic to your blog or website which every blogger or writer or author aims to achieve.  A blog or a website is nothing without blog traffic.
